About Us
My name is Hilary Motta LoBue and I am the owner/operator of Meadowlark Stables. I built
these stables with my main priority being the horses well being both physically and mentally.
This in turn made the stables also perfect for people who love their horses. I believe horses
should be outside all day, eat the highest quality hay/feed, be able to see for miles and stretch
their legs out in large turnouts. After a month of boarding here I have had many people
approach me and say "my horse is so happy here" and that is the highest compliment I can
receive. I take care of the horses everyday so I can tell you things about your horse for
example their social interactions with other horses and any changes in behavior which can be
crucial to their health. I am lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful horses and their equally
wonderful people.

I didn't want just a boarding place, I wanted a place where the horses could
feel that this is their home and people could drive away knowing that their
horses are getting the best care. I have a small facility not because we are
short on space (we are on 50 acres) but because I want to know every
horse and I want to continue to care for the horses myself. Now I do need
to say that my husband Joe is also a crucial part since he is the heavy lifter
and carpenter and without him I couldn't do it all:)

My history with horses starts at an early age with lessons in Illinois. I rode with several
instructors and showed in local hunter/jumper shows. I got serious at the age of 13 and my
parents purchased my first horse Susie (she started my bay mare streak). I showed in the IHJA
both "A" and "B" circuit and traveled around the mid west on the weekends and went to school
during the week. I worked for my instructor at the barn in the summer to help pay for lessons
and this is when I knew I wanted to care for horses for the rest of my life. I cleaned stalls and
threw hay and thought I was in heaven (oddly enough I still enjoy it!). So to make a long story
short I have been doing it ever since and have over 20 years experience caring for horses. I
still continue to show in Colorado.
